His occupation was farmer. Enlisted and mustered in on 17 Jun, 1862 for three years in Trenton, NJ.  Was wounded at Gettysburg July 2, 1863.  Returned to active duty and was killed in action at Spotsylvania Court House 12 May, 1864. Lewis died in 1862 however, in one place on the official company muster roll shows that he died of wounds as a result of the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House.  Also, the “History of the First Reginment Delaware Volunteers” states his name as William C. Lewis.

Dant.  However, this seems to be the correct information as there is no T.P. Dant in the 32 MA and all of the other information on the roster corresponds with this man.
