Horace Lacy near the Wilderness Tavern.  *(Note—this is the same location where the arm of Stonewall Jackson is buried.) In 1887 George Hussey, aided by Chaplain Roe, who remembered the exact spot where the burial occurred, recovered the remains and had them reinterred in the National Cemetery. At the time of the reinterrment the following items were found about the remains: One pair boots, piece of vest, eight uniform buttons (large) and three small buttons and one bullet.  The boots were in pieces as the stitching was all gone and there was nothing to hold them together.   The bits of clothing was all that could be secured, as the rest fell to pieces as soon as it was exposed.   The bullet was found in the bottom of the coffin as the remains decomposed.  The bullet was the one that killed the Colonel.
